What is Men's Grooming (Makeup For Men)? And How it Can Work For Your Photo Shoots?
Updated: Feb 2
In honor of Paris Men's Fashion Week I wanted to highlight a service that some Makeup Artist offer that is not regularly advertised and talked about. Many people, especially men, are unaware that Camera Ready Makeup for Men is an actual service that is offered and in fact very much needed if you're going in front of the lens.
If you are a male actor, author, media professional, and or performer and you have a press day where you need to have a polished look or simply updating your portfolio with new head shots and photos don't be afraid to call on your favorite local Makeup Artist to help assist you in achieving your camera ready look.
Below is a video with commentary as a guide to showcase somewhat of what a Men's Grooming service can entail. Feel free to share with a guy you know in your life or on your team to give him an idea of the service and how it can be useful to him in his marketing endeavors and business ventures.
If you're looking to get some grooming products for yourself and reading this blog as a man interested in how to find some of the products used in the video, you can find them listed on my Amazon Beauty List. A great way to get started is by getting a gentle cleanser that packs a punch. The Beekman 1802 Milk Bar listed is a great example of a Double Duty Beauty Product. Not only does this cleanser gently clean the skin, it gently exfoliates the skin, and hydrates it all in one! So technically this is a triple duty product but you get my point. To prep the skin I used the Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer and a bit of M-61's Hydroboost Eye Concentrate from Bluemercury.
As always I wish you good health, along with great skin practices. I hope this helps someone out there to understand a bit more of what the role of a Makeup Artist is and how we (MUA's) can help you achieve your desired look! Be well, and stay safe and enjoy the video.
Before and After, can you tell the difference??
